Most People Don’t Know There’s A Little Eiffel Tower In Louisiana

A piece of the Eiffel Tower is now a special events venue in New Orleans.

Not many people know there’s a piece of the Eiffel Tower right here in the Crescent City. It's a hidden gem only city locals usually know about. The story of its journey to Louisiana may surprise you! Check it out:

In 1937 there was a restaurant that was on the top of the Eiffel Tower in France.

In 1981 it was deemed too heavy, and actually causing parts of the tower to sink, jeopardizing the structural integrity of the tower.

The structure was removed piece by piece (11,000 pieces!) and shipped to America.

A local businessman bought the structure with plans to keep it as a restaurant.

Construction began in 1984 to rebuild the restaurant, but it closed down years later due to lack of business.

Today the structure is a special events venue, popular for weddings, dances, and other get togethers.

New Orleans is always looking for a reason to party.

It's also a bar/nightclub

The Eiffel Society is located at 2040 St. Charles Avenue New Orleans, LA 70130.
