New Orleans is known for amazing food and incredible architecture...but there are also some other hidden gems in the city that you may not have realized. The Immaculate Conception Church in New Orleans' CBD neighborhood is totally amazing and a truly unique place. Let's explore.

To explore the Immaculate Conception Church, check out 130 Baronne ST., right across from the popular restaurant Domenica.

The church was completed in 1930, as an exact replica of an 1850s church that was on the same site.

The church was damaged when the Pere Marquette building was built in 1920s, and had to be rebuilt.

The architectural style is called Gothic Revival, and it includes some unique elements of Moorish and Byzantine Revival.

The brilliant altar is the centerpiece here and was made in Lyons, France.

It's 24-karat gold plated and includes a solid marble statue of Mary and four other statues of saints.

The church is also home to a variety of stained glass windows that are considered some of the most beautiful in America.

Pews are made of iron and include many Moorish details including tracery, rosettes, and designs.

There are also lots of beautiful little details to discover here, including this mosaic.

The 1884 World Cotton Centennial also produced the Louisiana Cotton Exposition Organ which can be found inside of the organ.
