This Might Just Be The Wackiest Museum In All Of Louisiana

There are a lot of weird and wacky roadside attractions here in Louisiana, but few are as odd as this one. Next time you’re in Abita Springs make sure you take some time to check out this interesting museum - you’ll be glad you did.

The Abita Mystery House (also known as the UCM Museum) is one of the most unique roadside attractions you’ll ever come across in Louisiana.

From pottery to sculptures, found objects, and Louisiana-themed items, the best way to describe this place would be "interesting and unusual."

Established in 2007 by John Preble, the Abita Mystery House contains thousands of folk art objects.

You know that saying, "one man's trash is another man’s treasure?"

Well, Preble took that to heart and made it his personal motto.

He has been collecting unique items for decades.

Every inch of the walls is packed with things that will fill you with nostalgia, wonderment, and probably a bit of confusion.

Anyone with an eye for the strange or unusual will love this place.

One of the most popular exhibits here is Buford the Bassigator.

Housed in his own 26-foot shed, this is one display you’ll have to see for yourself.

From the quirky to the downright creepy, there's a little bit of everything here.

You never know what you might find!

The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is just $3.
