You Can Float Along A Lazy River And Shop A Flea Market At This One Awesome Kentucky Destination

Spending a weekend afternoon browsing the aisles of a flea market is a great way to pass the time in Kentucky. Our state is home to several markets that offer just about everything, and while some are hit-or-miss, most are high-quality one-stop shops. And speaking of one-stop shops, there’s one flea market in Kentucky where you can shop, then hop on a tube and float down a natural lazy river. The Awesome Flea Market and Awesome Lazy River is the one Kentucky destination where you can float along a lazy river and shop at a flea market, all in one fun-filled day in the Bluegrass State.

The Awesome Flea Market and adjoining Awesome Lazy River are both located in Shepherdsville, right off I-65, south of Louisville. It's an easy-to-reach destination in Kentucky that's filled with hidden treasures, as well as a natural lazy river that's perfect for a hot, summer day.

The Awesome Flea Market is one of the largest in the state and is known for its outdoor and indoor vendors. It's open every Saturday and Sunday throughout the year from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You will find absolutely everything at the market, from new items that have been discounted to collectible antiques. On a nice summer day, you'll find booth after booth of unique treasures to browse and hunt through.

Don't forget to head indoors to cool off and check out what's offered there, too. These booths are set up in aisles as small shops, and there are also food options if you want a bite to eat.

After walking around the flea market for a couple of hours, head on over to the Awesome Lazy River, which is right on the property. It opens on Memorial Day weekend and stays open at least through Labor Day weekend.

The natural lazy river is open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (weather permitting) and the last tube goes into the water at 4 p.m. (You have until 7 p.m. to finish) The length of the trip depends on the weather and the water levels, but typically you can do the float in about two hours.

Tube rentals are for the day and they offer single, double, and even Typhoon options for 5-6 people. Rent a cooler float as well and spend the ultimate summer day on the river.
