1. Seven Oaks Recreation, Boone

Seven Oaks is a great place to do some snow tubing, skiing, or snowboarding. Their slopes consist of 11 runs varying from beginner to expert and they offer a terrain park, rail yard and beginner area. 2. Mt. Crescent Ski Area, Honey Creek

Aside from skiing and snowboarding, visitors to Mt. Crescent can experience some of the best sledding and snow tubing in the state on slopes that are three football fields long. The best part? 3. Sleepy Hollow Sports Park, Des Moines

At Sleepy Hollow, visitors can choose between a day of skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, or zibob sledding down the park's 15-story-high hill and 1,000 foot runs. 4. Waveland Golf Course, Des Moines

5. Bunker Hill Golf Course, Dubuque

Sledding is allowed in all City of Dubuque parks and at Bunker Hill Golf Course. The course offers about 200 to 300 feet of sledding area, and some pretty good hills, too.

6. Scott County Park, Eldridge

Scott County Park offers many different winter activities, including: sledding, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, and ice fishing.

7. Duck Creek Park, Davenport

The City of Davenport has designated two different hills for safe winter sledding. The first one is behind the Putnam Museum at Fejervary Park and the other one is at Duck Creek Park at the hills next to the clubhouse. Both areas are open for sledding from 3-8 p.m. on school days and from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. on non-school days.

8. Grandview Park, Sioux City

Sioux City has announced two designated areas for sledding in city parks. The first is at Sertoma Park and the second is at Grandview Park. Both parks have signs for sledding posted near the hills.

9. Jones Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids

The sledding hill at Jones Park opens when enough snow accumulates to completely cover the hill, though sledders should call the winter sports hotline to check sledding conditions before they go out.

10. F.W. Kent Park, Oxford

This picturesque 1,052-acre park three miles west of Tiffin is one of Iowa’s premier county parks, especially during winter, when the area is transformed into a sledder's paradise. For more information, visit F.W. Kent Park online.
