Take A Moonlight Float Trip On Indiana’s Blue River For A Unique Summer Adventure
Milltown, Indiana offers unique outdoor adventures, including the popular Full Moon Float kayaking trip by Cave Country Canoes.
Milltown, Indiana is a little place with not a whole lot going on at any given time. It's a cute, quiet little town, with an area of just 1.33 square miles and a population of about 790. However, this doesn't mean that the place ought to be written off in any sense of the phrase; there are a few awesome, must-do attractions near this small town in Indiana that make the trip totally worth it. Take, for example, the legendary company known as Cave County Canoes. With its headquarters in Milltown, this is one of the single best things to do in Indiana during the summer. This year (and every year), Cave Country Canoes offers something particularly unique: moonlit kayaking in Indiana. Check it out, and plan your adventure before summer ends!
Cave Country Canoes offers the single most popular outdoor adventure in all of Milltown.
It's awesome by day, too, with lots of options in terms of adventures you can embark upon.
You can do half-day trips, full-day trips, multi-day trips... whatever your heart desires.
But what if your heart desires the night? What if you feel the call of the moon in your very blood and must feed its need for darkness?
...well, in that case, you do the awesome Full Moon Float trip, which is a one-of-a-kind adventure you won't find anywhere else.
It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like; on the evening of a full moon, you can float peacefully down the Blue River, witnessing the sunset first and then the falling of night second.
You'd be amazed at how different - and how alive - the river is once the sun disappears below the horizon.
While some critters retire for the evening, others are just waking up - and you'll soon find that, even if you're kayaking by yourself, you are never alone... at least out here.
This trip is seven miles in length, and it ends at the Cave Country Canoes HQ.
Guests must be 14 or older, and any guests younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Kayaking experience is preferred,
It is strongly recommended that you bring along not one but two sources of light, and if you know what's good, plenty of mosquito spray.
For more information about the Full Moon Float, including dates, prices, and more, be sure to visit the official Cave Country Canoes website. Ironically, though the company does have "canoes" in the name, kayaks are much preferred. Accommodations will be made for some canoes (and other vessels). The next Full Moon Float will be on July 29th, 2023.
