The Mendota Sweet Corn Festival In Illinois Is About The Corniest Event You Can Experience

Back for its 75th year, the Mendota Sweet Corn Festival in Illinois is set to make your summertime a bit corny and a ton of fun. This event involves music, entertainment, a craft fair, a flea market, a parade, a beer garden, carnival rides, and, as you may have already guessed, lots and lots of corn! This is definitely an only-in-Illinois type of event that you must go to this summer.

Hosted by the Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce, the Mendota Sweet Corn Festival is coming back for its 75th year. This exciting, one-of-a-kind event will be held August 11-14, 2022.

This family-friendly event has plenty of fun in store and it's free! Over 60,000 visitors are expected over the course of the weekend.

Kids and adults alike can enjoy carnival rides and games. There will also be plenty of food booths selling international, regional, and festival foods.

Live music will be held throughout the weekend as well as a parade, the Queen Pageant...

...the Crafters Market Place and Flea Market where you can find plenty of handmade, used, and vintage treasures...

...and a large beer garden! There is truly something here for everyone to enjoy.

The big event of the weekend will happen on Sunday afternoon. Starting at 2 p.m., there will be a corn boil and over 50 tons of hot buttered corn will be given out for free! This annual event is not to be missed.
