The Polar Express Train Ride In Illinois Is Scenic And Fun For The Whole Family

Trains for this magical holiday experience depart at the Jon Duerr Forest Preserve in Kane County. It's a scenic preserve that borders the Fox River and is filled with woods and beautiful landscape.

Fox River Trolley Museum's holiday train brings the Chris Van Allsburg book "The Polar Express" to life. Children's imaginations will surely run wild as the train makes its way down the tracks.

Passengers will board the Polar Express and embark on an exciting and downright magical journey to reach the North Pole where Santa will be waiting.

As the festive train chugs along the tracks and everyone waits with excitement to get to the destination, take a look outside at the beautiful scenery going by.

Once The Polar Express reaches the "North Pole," children will squeal with delight when they spot Santa.

Things get even more exciting when Santa boards the train and the journey continues on back to the station.

Select date for The Polar Express train ride are Nov. 27 and 28 and Dec. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, and 19, 2021. Multiple train departure times are offered each day at 3:15, 4:25, 5:35, and 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person, regardless of age.
