Float Down Idaho’s Longest Lazy Rivers at Roaring Springs Waterpark in Meridian
Float, splash, and slide at this amazing Idaho attraction.
There is nothing quite like spending a hot summer day at the water park. Here in Idaho, we have several water parks that make for incredible day trips, including one of our favorites—Roaring Springs. Located in Meridian, this is one of the largest water parks in the country with activities for individuals of all ages, including the Endless River, a 0.25-mile lazy river where you’ll find us all summer long.
Roaring Springs Waterpark is one of the most popular summer destinations in Treasure Valley. This park features more than 20 attractions, including those that will make your heart race and those where you can sit back and relax.
If you're anything like me, you head straight to the lazy river when you visit a water park. Roaring Springs is a bit unique because it has two rivers to enjoy—Endless River and Class 5 Canyon. While both are long and truly fit the definition of lazy, one is a little more slow-going than the other.
The Endless River is where you can sit back and simply float the summer day away. This family-friendly lazy river is only a quarter-mile long, meaning you can easily hop on and off whenever you please. As you weave through the park, you’ll travel at a slower pace, simply enjoying your time in the water.
For something a little more adventurous, check out Class 5 Canyon. It's Idaho’s first action river, and rather than a lazy float, you will ride some awesome whitewater waves. Kickboards are provided, and there is no height requirement. However, all guests under 48 inches are strongly encouraged to wear life jackets.
Of course, after you ride on the river of your choice, continue your summer adventure by heading to attractions like Snake River Run or Corkscrew Canyon. Both are exhilarating slides that provide bird's-eye views of the entire water park. If you have young swimmers in tow, head to Kiddie Kowabunga, Leisure Lagoon, or the exciting Critter Crossing.
And when you want some time out of the water, rent a cabana and enjoy many amenities such as complimentary large lockers, ice water, free Wi-Fi, and the ability to order hand-delivered food and drinks. It's certainly one of the more relaxing things to do in Idaho.
For me, summer means time spent in water, and there’s no place to do that than at Roaring Springs. Whether you want a lazy float or a ride with a little more action, you’ll find it here. If you see my family and me here, come up and say hello: we'll be here all summer long!
Roaring Springs is open seasonally from May to September. You can purchase day passes starting at $54.99, or grab season passes for more perks and discounts. For more information, including hours and other admission prices, visit the Roaring Springs website and the Roaring Springs Facebook page.
