The Emmett Cherry Festival In Idaho Is Back For Its 89th Year Of Fun & Festivities

Emmett Cherry Festival is one of the most iconic events in Idaho. Every June, we anticipate this beloved tradition that will be held for the 89th time this year! There's a reason this Idaho Cherry Festival has stuck around for so long, and you just have to experience it for yourself to know why!

Since the 1930s, the quaint community of Emmett has gathered every year to celebrate the abundance of delicious cherries in the Gem County valley.

It's always held during the second full week of June, and it promises to be a weekend filled with fun and entertainment. The Children's Parade takes place on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and the Cherry Festival Parade is on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Of course, plenty of fresh cherries will be on hand and ready for consumption in copious amounts.

Fresh-picked Idaho cherries are just divine—once you start eating them, you just can't stop.

The Cherry Festival in Idaho takes place at Emmett City Park and everybody is welcome to come and enjoy the fun.

On top of endless cherries, the event brings daily entertainment. Cheer on the contestants of the cherry pie eating contest on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Boasting a population of about 8,100 residents, Emmett is usually a quiet little town.

However, that all changes during the festival. More than 50,000 people attend this small-town celebration every year. After all, it's chock full of family-friendly activities and it's completely free to attend. The Carnival Rides, however, are not free with early bird wristbands available. The rides will operate Wednesday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.

While attending this awesome event, families can enjoy an endless array of vendors, arts and crafts, and so much more. It's the perfect way to kick off the summer season with family and friends.

The Emmett Lions Club Car Show is always a big hit. Check out the vintage wheels Saturday on Main Street.
