There was something about being young and reading fairytales that just made the idea of living in a castle so magical. The giant moat for protection, the sturdy cement walls, the tower that reached to the sky…it all sounded pretty dreamy, right? Especially when those accommodations came with the title of prince or princess, king or queen. While it isn’t likely you will live in a castle in this lifetime, you still can get to enjoy one every now and again. Rhodes Hall in Georgia is a historic castle that is practically out of a fairytale and we recommend spending the day exploring or heck—even choosing it as the ultimate wedding venue!
Editor's Note: Historical tours of Rhodes Hall have been cancelled until further notice.
Rhodes Hall in Atlanta is an incredible landmark within the city, built back in 1904.
Originally the home of Rhodes Furniture founder Amos Rhodes, today this giant castle-like structure is a museum and also one of the coolest venues in the state.
Nicknamed the Castle on Peachtree, Rhodes Hall allows visitors the chance to meander the old halls, enjoying the history of the building with many of the same furniture and decor throughout.
This fairytale home was believed to be inspired by Amos and his wife’s travels throughout the German Rhineland back in the 1890s.
Visitors have a few different tour options to choose from when they visit, from the self-guided tours available with a donation of choice to the $7 per person guided tour which takes guests behind-the-scenes.
This castle is such an architectural marvel and eccentric creation that it has become a premier wedding venue for residents and visitors alike!
As one of the few remaining mansions on Peachtree Street, not to mention one of the only castles in the state, come explore this historic and celebrated hotspot in Georgia.
