There are a lot of places throughout Savannah that are known for having some historic paranormal activity. In fact, being one of the oldest cities in the country, it's only right that there may be a ghost or two, right? The truth is, paranormal happenings occur often in Savannah, Georgia and we have a British-style alehouse in the heart of it where you can get all your ghoulish delights fulfilled. The next time you want to dine with ghosts, head on over to Six Pence Pub in Georgia.
Many people visit the Six Pence Pub in Savannah for the British-style flair and across-the-pond pints and plates.
However, what many might not know is that this historic Savannah spot also has a reputation for being haunted.
Before being Six Pence Pub, the building was named Wally’s Sixpence after the owner who hailed from England.
During the 40+ year span in which this pub was Wally’s, this place was a delight for locals to come and congregate over a pint and a fantastic, homemade lunch prepared by Wally and his wife, Doris.
However, throughout the history that this British-style alehouse has been around, there have been paranormal occurrences that most simply could not explain.
We’re talking about pots and pans whipping off the countertop with no explanation. Or an office chair slowly sliding and spinning across the floor as if someone pushed it.
Many employees have complained about electrical issues, like the temperature dropping randomly, to light bulbs actually bursting in their sockets!
Today, guests can visit Six Pence Pub and tour the old building inside while they grab a beer, perhaps even chatting with the locals to see what types of ghost stories they can rustle up, too.
