Right near the border of Georgia and North Carolina, you’ll find the Hamilton Gardens at Lake Chatuge.

This impressive botanical garden is tucked away in the mountains, but open year-round for anyone looking to visit.

Picture a paradise of dogwoods, native azaleas, wildflowers, trillium, tulip magnolias, and of course, rhododendron.

We say of course because this hidden gem botanical garden is known for its assortment of rhododendron - over 3,000 plants in all!

Hamilton Gardens is free to the public to meander, allowing visitors to stroll through the vibrant foliage along the peaceful pine bark trails.

You’ll even have some truly spectacular views of Lake Chatuge right at your fingertips!

Up until recently, these gardens were entirely volunteer-run, which makes them that much more special.
