It's hard to believe Christmas is rolling around again! Luckily, we have no shortage of great Christmas events in Connecticut. Whether you love the seasonal treats, the beautiful lights, artisan craft fairs, or plays, there's something for everyone here. One unique holiday festival in Hartford, CT that we absolutely love is the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art's Festival of Trees and Traditions. This is such a special event and the perfect time to come check out one of the best art museums in Connecticut. This year's festival runs from November 30 to December 10, 2023, so mark your calendars and get ready for holiday cheer!
The Wadsworth Atheneum is the oldest continuously operating public art museum in the United States. The historic building resembles a castle and has a massive collection of historical art pieces in its 75,000 square feet of exhibition space.
A visit at any time of year will greet you with a huge collection of paintings and sculptures from a variety of countries and time periods.
The Festival of Trees and Traditions is quite a unique time to plan a trip here, though.
The Wadsworth gets all decked out for the season, with festive trees, lights, and wreaths on display.
The beautiful holiday decorations look almost like pieces of art themselves.
Each day of the festival brings different entertainment options, with performances from local school bands and church choirs.
All of the trees and wreaths here on display are for sale, so if you fall in love with one, you can bring it home to grace your own house this Christmas.
