This Sand Castle Building Contest In Connecticut Will Bring Out The Kid In Everyone

Days at the beach in the summer can be long and lazy but they don't have to be. Grab a bucket and a shovel and enter this sand castle building contest to test your seaside talents. Rather just watch? That's fine too. Pack a picnic and enjoy a day at one of Connecticut's great beaches and spectate the sand as it turns into art before your eyes.

The Milford Arts Council is hosting the 41st annual sand sculpture contest at Walnut Beach on July 21st. The event begins at 10 a.m. and all ages are welcome to participate.

The contest begins at 10 a.m. and judging for prizes starts at 2:30 p.m. Create a castle, an animal, or whatever creation you think you can bring to life with sand.

Use your hands, shovels, spatulas, and other hand tools to create your master piece. Sorry, no power tools allowed.

If you don't want to go at it alone, enter in the group category and recruit a gang of family or friends to help.

Whether you choose to participate or spectate, this is one day at the beach you won't want to miss. Whether you are a young one looking to play in the sand or just a big kid at heart, you're going to love this sand castle building contest.
