This annual event is a welcome-to-spring festival of sorts and features all kinds of fun for the whole family. Best of all, it's free to attend! Mark your calendars: this year's Daffodil Day in Connecticut is scheduled for Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. It's one of the best things to do in Connecticut in spring.

Wadsworth Mansion is a gorgeous historic mansion constructed in the early 1900s. The property features more than 100 acres of carefully landscaped gardens and trails. It's a wonderful place to spend a spring afternoon.

The event attracts hundreds of families, and you'll find all kinds of activities for kids and parents alike.

And of course, it wouldn't be a festival without some of the state's best food!

Some of the most popular food trucks in Connecticut are scheduled to be at the festival, including the delicious Skyscraper Sandwich Truck.

There will be a guided nature exploration led by Everyone Outside that focuses on the wildlife at the vernal pool like tadpoles, frogs, salamanders, and more.

A rock painting station will be located on the terrace, so you can paint decorative rocks to hide throughout the grounds.

Docents will be on hand throughout the day providing guided tours of the mansion. It's a great opportunity to learn about the history of this beautiful home.

You can also independently explore the 103 acres of gardens surrounding the mansion - there are sure to be plenty of blooming daffodils.
