The First Ever Home Run Derby X In The United States Is Coming To Dunkin’ Park In Connecticut This August

Baseball is America's most treasured past time, and while we don't have a Major League Baseball team in the Nutmeg State, there's still plenty of baseball in Connecticut to enjoy. The Hartford Yard Goats are among the most popular sports teams in the state. Their home field of Dunkin' Park has been voted as one of the top Minor League Baseball stadiums in the country. Even if you're not particularly interested in the sport, heading to a stadium for a game is exciting, and the energy and enthusiasm of others is surprisingly contagious. One upcoming event that's a must-attend for baseball fans is the very first Home Run Derby X in Connecticut - and in the United States. Mark your calendars: it's scheduled for Friday, August 11, 2023 at Dunkin' Park in Hartford, CT.

Major League Baseball's Home Run Derby takes place each year just before the MLB All-Star Game. The competition is a timed contest of hitting skill and is quite different than a normal baseball game.

The MLB Home Run Derby X is similar, but operates with slightly different rules. The co-ed teams play three-inning games that are designed to be action-packed.

One unique aspect of MLB Home Run Derby X is that the teams have open tryouts a few days before the big game.

Each four-person team has one professional player and the other players are chosen from the tryouts.

This year marks the first time that Home Run Derby X is being held in the United States. Previous iterations were held in London, Seoul, and Mexico City.

As always, there will be plenty of great eats available on-site, and the first 1,000 fans into the stadium even get a free bobblehead.
