3 Epic Waterparks in Connecticut To Take Your Summer To A Whole New Level

Summer in Connecticut is a time full of fun, but it can also get pretty toasty out there. It's easy to be tempted to stay inside and enjoy the air conditioning, but there's no need to do that every day. Take the whole family out for a day and enjoy one of these amazing waterparks in Connecticut - they're perfect for family fun!

1. Splash Away Bay Waterpark At Quassy Amusement Park: Middlebury

Quassy Amusement Park has been around since 1908 and has all kinds of fun attractions. Needless to say, the water park area is quite popular in the summertime. Splash Away Bay Waterpark has slides, raft rides, and more to make the summer heat a little more bearable.

Combo tickets are available that will give you admission to both the rides and waterpark at a discounted rate. If you live nearby, you may want to consider a season pass, which has additional benefits, like discounted cabanas.

2. Lake Compounce Amusement & Water Park

Lake Compounce is the nation's oldest continuously-operating amusement park, and there's a lot to enjoy here. When the temperatures are soaring, the Crocodile Cove on-site water park area is the place to be.

With kiddie rides, water slides, and a huge freshwater pool, there's something for everyone to enjoy here. Admission to the amusement park includes access to Crocodile Cove, so you don't even have to worry about purchasing a separate ticket. This place is a summer tradition for many Nutmeg State families!

3. Brownstone Adventure Sports Park

Brownstone Adventure Park is pretty unique in that it's not a man-made water park like most are - it's set up on a lake! The quarry here dates all the way back to 1690 and is filled by an underground spring that makes it impossible to drain.

We're quite happy for that now because the park's inflatable attractions, water slides, and zip lines are so much fun. Kayaking and paddle boarding are also available, and you can even try your hand at rock climbing.

Fun in the sun is great, but it can also be dangerous. Make sure to protect yourself from the sun's harmful rays by using a good quality sunscreen - I love Sun Bum from REI because it's gentle on skin, protective, and not tested on animals.
