11 Terrifying Things In Colorado That Can (And Just Might) Kill You
Lists 11 potential dangers in Colorado that could be life-threatening.
We all know that Colorado is the most perfect state in the country... but did you know that living in such a perfect place can kill you? Let me explain by listing the 11 things in Colorado that can (and just might) kill you:
1. Avalanche
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, avalanches kill an average of six people in Colorado each year (not counting the avalanche slides on state highways).
2. Marijuana edibles
If you decide to eat a pot brownie, don't overdo it... It takes an average of two-hours for pot edibles to take effect, which causes some users to consume more than the recommendation. If this is your preferred high, please be responsible; we don't like turning on the news and hearing about the tragic death of someone who consumed too much.
3. Tornadoes
Contrary to popular belief, tornadoes are not exclusive to Kansas.
4. Colorado Rockies
These boys will break your heart...
5. Californians
...and the California transplants who have nothing good to say about Colorado will shatter your soul.
6. West Nile Virus
In October, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported 97 cases of the potentially fatal virus in 2015 alone.
7. Bears
Rule of thumb: If you leave the bears alone, they will typically do the same. (Don't be a jerk like these people.)
8. Rattlesnakes
See description for "bears."
9. Rock slides
Ready Colorado estimates that there are thousands of rock slides each year in Colorado. Be careful out there!
10. Mountain lion
Basically, if you see a wild animal, just leave it alone.
11. Casa Bonita
If the crazy gorilla man doesn't get you, the food probably will.
