As much as we love spending time outside exploring Southern California, there are lots of good reasons to enjoy the many unique discoveries that can be enjoyed indoors. Here's one of our favorites, a little-known automobile museum that may quickly become your new favorite outing. Especially on Sundays. Keep reading and you'll see why.
The Automobile Driving Museum is located at 610 Lairport St., El Segundo, CA 90245.
Located in the town of El Segundo, taking a day trip to this unique local gem is a fun way to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city.
The Automobile Driving Museum is dedicated to preserving historic vehicles and educating the public on the significance of the automobile's history. Here's a closer look at what you'll find when you stop in for a visit.
Take a walk through America's automobile history and see just how much things have changed in the past 100 years.
With over 130 antique and vintage cars on display, you could wander through this museum an entire day and never see the same thing twice.
Founded in 2001, this museum hasn't been around very long but it sure has built up quite a following. With a collection of historic cars that span the entire lifetime of the automobile, it's easy to see why people flock here for a look at what they have on hand.
Unlike most museums where you can only look but can't touch, this museum actually allows visitors to experience a ride in their classic cars. That's right, you can actually take a spin in a car that's on display in a museum. How cool is that?!
Rides are held on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each week you'll find a new rotation of cars available for a driving tour so make sure to check the calendar to see what cars will be featured each week.
Not only will you enjoy seeing these classic beauties on display, but you'll also love the history that you'll learn as you tour the museum as every car has a story.
The Automobile Driving Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission into the museum is $10 for adults, $5 for children, and $8 for seniors. Children 10 and under can enter the museum for free.
As if this place wasn't charming enough, they also have a retro ice cream parlor on the premises that's the perfect way to end the tour. Just one more reason to hop in the car and make a day trip to this unique SoCal destination.
