7 Paved And Beautiful Paths In Arizona That Are Perfect For A Family Bike Ride

Seven scenic bike trails in Arizona offer diverse landscapes and enjoyable rides for families and solo cyclists.

We feature hiking trails all the time, but road biking often takes a backseat. Not anymore! These seven scenic bike trails are perfect for a day out with the family or relaxing solo ride.

1. Indian Bend Trail from East Shea Boulevard (Phoenix)

At 12.9 miles, this point-to-point trail near ASU is a popular spot for both pedestrians and bicyclists. For being located in the city, it boasts some truly scenic views!

2. Kiwanis Park Lakefront Trail (Tempe)

This 0.8-mile loop circles Kiwanis Lake and the plethora of beautiful trees that surround it. With people fishing and families enjoying the outdoors, it's a truly unparalleled place for a bike ride.

3. Santa Cruz River Park Trail North (Tucson)

Expect to see lots of wildlife, including birds and turtles, along this 20-mile stretch near Tucson. Distant mountain views make for a truly breathtaking ride the entire way.

4. Maricopa Trail: Verrado (Buckeye)

At just 3.5 miles, the gorgeous Maricopa Trail is ideal for a quick ride. Its elevation gain is minimal, kids and pets are welcome, and the scenery is unparalleled.

5. Kaibab Plateau - North Rim Parkway: Jacob Lake to Grand Canyon North Rim (Jacob Lake)

The longest trail on our list thus far, the Kaibab Plateau - North Rim Parkway spans just over 40 miles. The high desert landscape is lined with ponderosa pines, which continually grow sparser as the terrain begins changing into a more canyon-like scene. This is truly a ride for the books.

6. Canada Del Oro Trail (Tucson)

Canada Del Oro Trail is an easy, paved route between the Whetstone and Santa Catalina mountain ranges. On a clear day, when the peaks are in full view, it's absolute bliss.

7. Beachcomber Boulevard Loop (Lake Havasu City)

A decidedly different landscape than the previous trails, this 3.8-mile loop makes a perfect summer ride. It snakes around the island, parallelling the waterfront and offering second-to-none views throughout.
