Travel Off The Beaten Path To Try The Most Mouthwatering BBQ In Delaware
There are so many great BBQ places in Delaware, from Charlie K’s on the way to the beach, Russell’s in the heart of Wilmington, and even Mission BBQ, in Dover. To find some of the best brisket you’ll ever try, though, you’ve got to travel off of the beaten path a bit, to Fat Daddy’s just outside of Georgetown.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
Fat Daddy's BBQ is located on Route 404 in Georgetown.
The address is
13203 Seashore Hwy
Georgetown, DE 19947
You can't miss the big "BBQ" flag waving across the entrance to this little hole in the wall.
From the outside, it does not look like much. You will know you have found paradise when the smell of smoked meat hits you the moment you step out of your car.
When you walk inside, you'll be greeted by the nicest people you'll ever meet, and the smell of a smoker that has been running for hours.
"Fat Daddy" and "Mama Frey" have owned the restaurant for years, and have spent hours perfecting their now-famous recipes.
If it's a nice day, you can choose to dine outside on the picnic tables out back!
There is plenty of room for a big group out here!
Fat Daddy's BBQ is well worth the drive out out Georgetown for their brisket, which might be the best in the Northeast.
If you've got a crowd, you'll want to order the "Pig Pen". It comes with pulled pork, brisket, cheeseburger, and the best smoked wings in Delaware.
Each delicious, mouthwatering side that they serve is made fresh daily by Mama Frey.
Hand cut fries, stewed tomatoes, collards, potato salad and of course mac and cheese... these are the things that set a great BBQ stand apart from the rest.
You definitely want to try Mama Freys famous cornpone.
This cornbread lookalike is much richer than traditional cornbreads, and you will absolutely love it.
Be sure to save some room for dessert.
Mama Frey often makes mason jar desserts with homemade baked goods and fresh, seasonal fruits. You don't want to miss them, so save room!
