The Yale Center for British Art is a pretty incredible art museum in Connecticut. This magical spot has the largest collection of British art outside of the United Kingdom, and there’s plenty to see: plus, admission is free! Did you know that hiding inside of the museum is a wonderful bakery and cafe that also sells books? Atticus Bookstore Cafe is one of the most charming little cafes in Connecticut. You can pick up amazing sandwiches, salads, and coffee here, plus grab a new book to read, all in between checking out world-class art!

Atticus actually has two locations in Connecticut. The original New Haven Bookstore Cafe is the one we'll focus on today, but you can also find Atticus Market in the East Rock Neighborhood.

Atticus Market sells groceries as well as pre-made food, whereas the cafe focuses on books, baked goods, and pre-made food.
This bookstore cafe is tucked away on the first floor of the Yale Center for British Art. The cafe opened in 1975, not too long after the museum itself was completed.
