There are quite a few rivers in Connecticut, but we all know that riverfront views are sometimes hard to come by especially when you are dining. These six restaurants offer not only fantastic river views, but some flavorful food as well.
Sitting right on the Housatonic River, the Stone's Throw Restaurant offers plenty of outdoor seating and is a local hot spot for watching the sun set. Their dinner menu is a mix of delicious local seafood like mussels from the Thimble Islands. They also offer short ribs, duck, steak and shrimp - to name a few items. For lunch, you can find quite a few delightful sandwiches like the lobster salad sandwich or the fried portabello mushroom wrap. For some beautiful scenery and creative American food this restaurant on the river is a great choice.

Anastasio's Boat House Cafe sits right next to the Quinnipiac River and has outdoor seating where you can watch the boats pass. This restaurant has some of the most appetizing breakfast items in the area - and they don't charge extra for the views. The menu offers waffles with fruit baked into them, omelettes of all kinds, grits and so much more — and all at a very reasonable price. Later in the day, they serve some hearty sandwiches with fantastic homemade potato chips and their fried seafood baskets are also a nice traditional option.

Stonebridge Restaurant on the Wepawaug River is a great destination if you are looking for something a little upscale. They have a gorgeous formal dining room, but for those who want a bit more casual, you can eat in the mahogany bar area. The menu showcases New England seafood and classic American dishes.
