It can be easy to forget just how many beautiful parks and state forests we have in Connecticut, especially if you live in one of our more populated cities. But we have an incredible 139 state parks and forests in the Nutmeg State – this is even more impressive when you consider our relatively small size! One of our favorite state forests in Connecticut is also one of our largest. Cockaponset State Forest spans an impressive 17,000 acres of protected land, and it’s unbelievably gorgeous.
