Over the last quarter century alone, Colorado has seen its fair share of large and destructive tornadoes… but how do we stack up to the other 49 states? Thanks to Tornado History Project, we can take a better look at Colorado tornadoes over the past 65 years and see just how we compare.

What do these numbers mean? And just how do we stack up to other states? According to the National Centers for Environmental Information, the number of average annual tornadoes is a whopping 1,253 — 53 of which take place in Colorado. Which states have the most?
