As we have discussed time and time again, Denver is plagued by the paranormal… However, for every occurrence that happens within city limits, there is something even stranger popping up in other parts of the state, including the unexplainable activity associated with this small Colorado town:

Known for its casinos, special events, and other fabulous attractions, Cripple Creek is a small town of just more than 1,000 residents that is located 2 hours from the center of Denver.

Home to the still-open Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine, the town was incorporated in 1892 as a -- you guessed it -- mining camp that produced a whopping 23.5 million troy ounces of gold.

After the gold rush, many miners and their families left Cripple Creek, deeming it a ghost town by the 1970s. Fortunately, the town gained traction once again in 1991, when Colorado voted that gambling be legalized in the area.

The woman who snapped this picture writes, "And now, the rest of the story . . . the ghost story. I've never believed in ghosts and still don't think I do, but after our stay, now I'm not for sure. My husband and I were in Room 43 and our friend was next door. I'm not sure of that room number. The next morning, we loaded our vehicle and were headed on over to Victor. We stopped to photograph the donkeys in the middle of the street and on the sidewalk in front of the Wild Horse Saloon. I commented on what a good night's sleep I had and asked our friend if he slept well. He replied, "Actually, I didn't. I kept waking up and at one time in the early morning hours, I woke up and thought I saw a man in a straw hat and white shirt standing by my bed. I guess I was dreaming, but it seemed real."
...then there is the young girl who sits in the stairwell at Bronco Billy's Casino (occasionally leaving her trademark spot to gaze out the upstairs windows)...
