The natural beauty flowing from Lake Leatherwood makes this the prettiest little loop in Arkansas! This expansive city park features well over 1,000 acres of forest as well as a stunning 85-acre spring-fed lake. The history of the park is quite interesting but today we’re focused on the gorgeous nature trail. Let’s take a stroll to see waterfalls, wildflowers, and more!

This gorgeous scenery is part of Lake Leatherwood Loop, a lovely city park in Eureka Springs. The majority of the park was originally built by the WPA in the early 40s. This is one park where the history and beauty are evenly matched!
There are a plethora of reasons to visit the park whenever you're in town...

The lake has plenty of recreation including kayaking and fishing but even the dam has significance! In addition to featuring a beautiful waterfall, the spring-fed lake is formed by one of the largest hand-cut limestone dams in the nation!
...but our favorite reason is the trail system!

The park has about 25 miles of trails including today's featured hike - Lake Leatherwood Loop. The loop encompasses Beacham Trail and the Fuller Trail to create a 4.2-mile trek.

The trail is not completely paved but is well-worn and well-marked! Younger hikers as well as (leashed) four-legged friends should be able to take on this trail. In addition to the wildflowers and waterfall, this loop also has a small collection of geocaches to find!
