This is the Salt Cellar, a seafood restaurant that offers one unique dining experience: it is located underground! What you see above ground is simply the entrance.

After walking through the doors, you’ll descend a flight of antique wooden stairs down to the restaurant and bar, both of which are cozy and decorated in a nautical theme.

The restaurant was built in 1970 and has been a Valley favorite since 1971. It’s an especially wonderful hideaway in the summers when the desert heat can become overbearing.

As for the menu, you’ll find many of your favorite dishes: clam chowder, perfectly sautéed scallops, shrimp scampi, and crab cakes.
