These 8 Boat Adventures Will Show You A Side Of Arizona You Didn’t Even Know Existed
Arizonans know that our home state is more than just some dust-filled wasteland. In fact, we have some rivers,
lakes, and creeks that are downright stunning and perfect for spending a quiet morning or fun-filled afternoon. If you enjoy getting out on the water, you will love some of these boat adventures.
1. Enjoy a lovely afternoon on Saguaro Lake with a narrated boat cruise aboard the Desert Belle.
Cruises are available 5 to 6 days per week and you can even choose a music-filled evening on the weekends.
2. Try out a water to wine tour when you kayak on the Verde River
The namesake of the Verde Valley, the Verde River is one of the state’s last free-flowing rivers and is simply beautiful. Enjoy the sights with a three hour tour that includes kayaking on the river followed by a brisk walk to the Alcantara Vineyards in Cottonwood for a wine tasting.
3. Enjoy the urban setting of Tempe Town Lake in a pedal boat for two.
When the temperatures are just right, there’s nothing quite like being out on the lake at sunset with someone you love. Enjoy the views and quiet time from one end of the lake to another in a pedal boat.
4. Embark on a tour of Lake Powell on a paddleboard.
If you’re looking for a more personal way to experience Lake Powell, then try renting a paddleboard. This solo adventure requires standing on top of the board and gently paddling across the lake, giving you one incredible experience.
5. Hop aboard a boat tour of the Colorado River from Lake Havasu City.
There are actually quite a few boat tour companies to choose from in Lake Havasu but we thought this one with its Starship name and sharp design is pretty cool. The jetboat will take you from the city, under the London Bridge, and out to see the rugged terrain surrounding the Colorado River. During your tour, be sure to keep an eye open for all the wildlife walking through the rugged terrain. You just might spot a big horn sheep or three!

6. Watch the sun set and enjoy a twilight dinner cruise at Canyon Lake.
How incredible does a dinner cruise aboard a steamboat in a pretty canyon sound? From the Dolly Steamboat, you’ll be able to spot wildlife and see some beautiful sights.
7. See the impressive emerald green cove on the Colorado River.
Located in Black Canyon near Willow Beach, a kayak trip at just the right time of day will show off one incredible view. Emerald green waters appear to be lit from below and time spent here will feel like a secret you just discovered. Be sure to have your camera ready!
8. Eat dinner and sightsee aboard a yacht on Lake Powell.
Looking for a unique experience when visiting Lake Powell? You can check out the Canyon Princess dinner cruise! The two-hour boat ride starts a couple hours before sunset and will show you some spectacular landscapes that you can only find here.
