Most People Have No Idea You Can Do This One Awesome Activity In Alabama

Did you know that Alabama has a “drive-thru” petting zoo where you can feed zebras, ostriches, llamas, buffalo and so much more from the comfort of your car? That’s right. You can drive through this unique petting zoo while animals walk straight up to your car window for you to feed them. This unique “drive-thru” petting zoo is Huntsville’s very own Harmony Park Safari.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

In 1990, Harmony Park Safari opened with 30 acres of land. What makes this park unique is that the animals are allowed to roam freely. Hey, it’s not every day you see a llama or zebra roam freely towards your car. And because new animals are constantly being added to the park, be sure to visit again. Who knows? You might see several animals you didn’t see before.

Here are a few of the animals you can expect to see when you take a drive on the wild side at Harmony Park Safari:

What do you think? Does this look like a place you’d want to visit? Why or why not? And if you’ve been to Harmony Park Safari, we’d love for you to share your experience with us.

Harmony Park Safari is open from March-November, daily, 10am-sunset. The cost is $9 per person. Kids 2 and under are free, and food buckets are $5.00
