If you travel on I95 in Portland at all you most likely have seen a train trestle hanging out in the water near the B&M Bean Factory. This story of this trestle is very interesting to read and will give history next time you look out over the bay and see this odd structure. Old abandoned railroad tracks traveling near the capitol will also lead to an old trestle. Following the Rail Trail from Gardiner to Augusta you will come across Hallowell and with it an old train trestle that is stuck in time. It is an interesting find in a small quint town right here in Maine. Bonus bridge, This last one is not a train trestle but it is the largest observation bridge in the world, check it out.
