The Little-Known Scenic View In Maine You Can Only Reach By Hiking This 2.7-Mile Trail
Exploring the great outdoors of Maine is high on our list of ways to enjoy free time no matter the time of year. There are some trails that we’ve enjoyed over and over again. These are the ones that provide a comfortable setting where we can take the time to appreciate just how beautiful this state is. Then there are the ones that offer something new and unexpected. This trail, located off-the-beaten-path in Guilford is one of those! And we think you’ll love where it leads.
The Borestone Base and Peregrine Trail offers a fun, moderately challenging hike with one seriously special pay-off!
The out-and-back trail is 2.7 miles and to enter, there's a fee of $5 for non-member adults and $3 for non-member kids. If you're a member entry is completely free.
You'll also need to make your way over rocks as you make your way to the summit. Some of these rocks will require a bit of a scramble so be prepared to use your hands if necessary.
The Peregrin Trail starts across from the Visitors Center and leads to an area way above the cliffs. This area is unexpected for many hikers who assume you need to go all the way to the summit for the best view. But this one offers some of the best all-encompassing views of the area.
Borestone Mountain Base and Peregrine Trail can be accessed year-round. The route is rated as moderately challenging due to its elevation and some areas where you’ll need to scramble over rocks.
