Follow A Forested Path To The Waterfront When You Visit Second Beach In Washington

The Second Beach Trail on the Olympic Peninsula offers a stunning, easy hike through lush forest to a scenic beach.

The Olympic Peninsula is an enchanting place with an extremely diverse landscape, including some beautiful beaches. The Second Beach Trail is particularly stunning, and it also happens to lead right to the ocean. The trail has been closed to the public in recent months due to current conditions, but it's set to open again soon.

The Second Beach Trail is a two mile round-trip hike that's great for beginners and experts alike.

The trailhead is located just outside of the town of La Push. You'll see signs, and there's a designated parking lot that holds about 10 vehicles.

The trail starts off surrounded by lush green forest.

You'll pretty much feel like you're in another world (but don't worry, you haven't even left the state).

The first half of the trail looks like this, but after about the first 1/2 of a mile...

... you'll be walking by the ocean.

Most of this easy trail is oceanside, and it's fantastic.

Second Beach is arguably one of the most scenic beaches on the entire Pacific Coastline.

It's marked by the iconic Crying Lady Rock, which is said to look like a woman's face.

If you can, try to plan this hike during low tide.

The tide pools here are fantastic and often full of treasures.

Second Beach is absolutely gorgeous, and everyone in Washington should see it.

There's never a bad time to enjoy this trail, but it's particularly stunning in the summer.

Have you ever hiked this easy trail? While the road leading up to it is currently closed to the public, the closure is temporary. We highly recommend exploring as much of the Olympic Peninsula as possible. Here are some unique places to stay while you do.
