Every True Washingtonian Has Had These 10 Bizarre Experiences At Least Once
Washington is a pretty normal state for the most part. Sure, we've got an abundance of fresh produce, a thriving beer and wine industry and our coffee tastes a little better than most other places, but for the most part living here is like living anywhere else. But every Washingtonian has had a bizarre experience or two in their lifetime.
How many of these things have happened to you?
1. You’ve heard a Bigfoot story.
Maybe you haven’t spotted our friend Sasquatch yourself, but you know someone who has. Or you know someone who knows someone…
2. You’ve worn a short-sleeved shirt as soon as the temperature hits 58 degrees.
After a long, cold winter, early spring feels downright warm.
3. You’ve gotten lost in Seattle…
… even if you live there.
4. You’ve heard all the jokes about this.
Really, Yakima?
5. You’ve eaten Dick’s.
It sounds stranger than it is, thankfully.
6. You’ve taken a picture on a giant pig.
7. You’ve driven past city skylines, mountains, plains and farms in a single day without leaving the state.
I-90 is pretty awesome.
8. You’ve been told to stay indoors for the simple reason that half of your state is on fire and the air isn’t breathable.
9. You grew up with earthquake drills in school.
10. You’ve watched your football team tie a game.
The Seahawks thought they were playing soccer this season, apparently.
One amazing thing about Washingtonians: We can always laugh at ourselves.
