The Quirky Motel In Montana You Never Knew You Needed To Stay At
The Dude Rancher Lodge in Billings offers a rustic, historic stay with a touch of paranormal activity.
Did you know you can stay at an old school "dude ranch" lodge in the downtown business district of Billings? Since its 1950 beginnings, the Dude Rancher Lodge has earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places, and it's a place every Montanan should see.
The Dude Rancher Lodge is located at 415 N 29th Street in Billings.
This rustic ranch will remind you of days gone by.
When you arrive, you'll receive a warm Montana welcome in the lobby and a cup of complimentary coffee.
The rooms here aren't fancy, and that's the point.
While the 56 guest rooms are clean and comfortable, they're designed to be simple and rustic, just like they used to be. Each one features casual Western decor.
Despite its quirkiness, the ranch does offer everything you'll need to be comfortable.
Amenities include cable TV, WiFi, in-room coffee makers, room service and comfortable European Pillow Top mattresses.
You'll be within walking distance of plenty of great eateries when you stay here, but we highly recommend having a hearty breakfast at the onsite restaurant.
The Stirrup Coffee Shops has been serving homestyle American food for over 50 years.
If you're curious about paranormal activity, you'll be happy to know that the Dude Rancher Lodge is haunted.
After the original owner, Annabel Goan, passed away in 1983, guests and staff have reported strange occurrences. People will hear knocks on their doors with no one on the other side, TVs will turn on while the housekeepers are cleaning rooms, and lights will turn on and off on their own, just to name a few. The Montana Paranormal Research Society even caught a strange female voice on tape once.
Whether or not you believe in ghosts, you should stay at the Dude Rancher for the historic experience alone. And while you're at it, check out the Many Glacier Hotel at Glacier National Park.
