This house in Indianapolis will make you feel like you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole.

Located at the Indianapolis Art Center, the Twisted House is a life-sized sculpture of a fairytale-like house that is bent into a surreal arch shape. This public artwork is absolutely fascinating, and looks like it came straight out of the book Alice in Wonderland. Surrounded by greenery, the house is made of cedarwood and has asymmetrical windows, a distorted doorway, and a roof that seems to be slowly pushing deeper into the forest floor. Shimmy through the skinny doorway and look back out at the garden through off-kilter windows; the outdoors may start to seem almost as strange from the inside was the house did from the outside.

John McNaughton created this fascinating artwork as part of ARTSPARK, an initiative of the Indianapolis Art Center that focuses on merging art and nature. One of McNaughton’s goals in making the sculpture was to create an interactive sculpture that engages the viewer’s imagination – and he certainly did.

Check out this great video for some more views of the sculpture.
