The Oldest Guest Ranch In America Is Right Here In Wyoming And It’s Amazing
Eatons' Ranch in Wyoming is the oldest guest ranch in the world, offering a true Western experience.
Nothing represents life in the West more than a true ranch experience. Ranches in the United States date all the way back to the mid 1600s. However, unbeknownst to many, the oldest guest ranch in America is in Wyoming. Its claim to fame doesn't end there, though. It's actually the oldest in the world, too.
Eatons' Ranch is tucked away in Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains, just 18 miles west of Sheridan. The ranch, located at 270 Eaton Ranch Road in Wolf, is an authentic dude and guest ranch.
The ranch consists of 7,000 acres of open country with rolling hills, meadows, and valleys. There's so much freedom and countryside to explore.
The ranch offers the unique opportunity of riding one of their 220 horses unescorted. They also offer overnight pack trips in the Bighorn National Forest.

There's a dance every week in Howard Hall, which is the recreation building. There are also other activities offered there during the week.
Accommodations at the ranch include 47 individual cabins and three suites in the Main Ranch House. The cabins and rooms are cozy, comfortable, and decorated with a Western motif.
The ranch was established over 135 years ago by three Eaton brothers. The ranch has stayed in the family for all those years and is currently operated by 4th and 5th generations.
The ranch was first established in 1879 in North Dakota, moved to Wyoming in 1904, and by 1930, it had become the largest and most popular vacation ranch in the country.
This working cattle ranch was the first dude ranch in America and the oldest guest ranch in the world.
Today, guest ranches still offer cattle, horses, and hospitality. Their goal is to share the Western way of life with people from all over the country and the world.
