The Inn is the largest log structure in the world - but there's more than just tons of timber here!

When you walk in to this historic landmark, the first thing you'll notice is the enormous fireplace. The fireplace is made with 500 tons of a native stone that pays tribute to the region's thermal past.

The stone used to make the foundation and much of the Inn's structure is called rhyolite, and it was quarried from the Black Sand Basin. This rock was formed by Yellowstone's volcanic activity!
