If you've spent any time exploring the Cowboy State, chances are you've already fallen in love with the Cloud Peak Wilderness. It's a backpacker's paradise, and anyone who loves camping, hiking, and fishing is sure to enjoy any time they spend out here off the grid. One of the best little trails in the area takes you to a crystal clear hidden lake in Wyoming. You'll have to travel through a moderate trail for four miles before you spot it, but you'll be so glad you put in the effort to find Willow Lake.
The trail to Willow Lake begins in the Cloud Peak Wilderness, not far from Circle Peak Campground.
You'll head off on an 8-mile round trip trek that's a mixture of well maintained and rocky footing, so be sure to bring sturdy shoes.
Four miles into your hike, you'll spot the stunning Willow Lake. This gorgeous sight is sure to take your breath away.
This hidden lake is renowned for its crystal blue water and isolated location. Chances are you won't see another person at all on the trail with you.
Catch yourself a fine dinner here, as the lake is known for being a great fishing destination. You can camp out here and head home in the morning, or make the trek back after relaxing by the shoreline.
