Bringing The Food Truck Concept Indoors, Vagabond In Wisconsin Offers The Best Of Both Worlds

Let’s taco ‘bout Vagabond! One of Wisconsin’s most unique eateries, it’s like something straight from a foodie’s dream. Specializing in street food, the restaurant serves up some amazing tacos and tortas, among other things. Just as memorable as the grub is the atmosphere, which is touted as a throwback to all things Americana. Take a look:

Opened in December 2014, Vagabond is located in the heart of Milwaukee’s entertainment district. Some may remember the building as Rudy’s Mexican Restaurant, which occupied the space from 2001 – 2014.

Vagabond serves up a Mexican-inspired fare like Rudy’s, but that’s where the similarities between the two end.

In a class all its own, Vagabond is a unique dining destination that merges elevated street food, music, and nostalgia.

Though tortas, burritos, and other small plates are all part of the tasty offering, street tacos are the main focus of the menu and include orizaba brisket, pollo rostizado, and kung pow shrimp options.

To really get your fill of tacos, visit Vagabond on a Tuesday or Thursday, when they’re just $2 each.

Fresh, house-made margaritas and creative cocktails also have a place on the menu – and are the perfect complement to any meal.

Regardless of what you decide to order, though, you’re sure to have a memorable meal thanks to the digs, which are both eclectic and charmingly retro.

Paying homage to decades of the past, the restaurant features 1970s Airstream campers, a wall of vintage speakers, Star Wars memorabilia, and boomboxes.

Other unique features include graffiti-covered walls and a greenhouse-like patio.

Serving up street-style grub in the comfort of an indoor setting, Vagabond truly offers the best of both worlds!
