Among the shops, bars, and eateries that fill downtown Burlington, you’ll find Fred’s. At first glance, it looks like a typical restaurant.
However, upon closer inspection, you’ll notice a sign, indicating it serves up the world’s best burgers – something it’s been doing since opening in 1980.
The burgers aren’t the only thing that’s been consistent since the '80s. There are also the interior digs, which, with lots of wood accents, are reminiscent of taverns of yesteryear.
Not everything's remained the same, though. In order to accommodate the hordes of hungry diners that visit Fred's, the building was expanded to include a dining room.
Now, back to the hamburgers.
Right from the start, Fred set out to create the world’s best burger. And it’s safe to say he succeeded, as the eatery churns out about 2,500 burgers a week!
The secret to the burgers' success is that they’re made with meat that's ground fresh every morning and seasoned with a secret blend of spices. The buns are baked fresh, too.
A burger lover’s dream come true, the menu features a tasty array of hamburgers. In addition to classic burgers, you’ll find unique creations, like the Giardinera Burger, which is Fred’s famous burger topped with Italian beef, mild gardinera, and mozzarella cheese.
You’ll also find classics with a twist, like Fred’s version of the patty melt. A customer favorite, it includes a perfectly seasoned patty topped with cheddar cheese and grilled onions served on marble rye.
And while no trip to Fred’s would be complete without a burger, there are plenty of other tasty dishes on the menu that are worth a try.
So, are you ready to make your way to this small town gem that churns out the world's best burgers?
Fred’s is open Sunday – Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m. – 9 p.m., Thursdays, from 10:30 a.m. – 10 p.m., and Friday – Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. For more information, call (262) 763-8370. You can also visit the Fred’s website or Facebook page.
