All aboard! The next stop is Silver Coach, where you’ll find one of the state’s most unique dining experiences. Located in Stevens Point, the restaurant is hiding in an old railroad car from the early 1900s. Aside from the surroundings, it’s the tasty fare you’re sure to remember. Take a look:
Silver Coach has been at its present location in Stevens Point since the 1940s. However, the pre-1900 era train car that houses it has been around much longer.
Though the train car has been transformed into a restaurant, it still features many signs of its former life on the rails.
Throughout its years as a restaurant, both the interior and exterior of the railroad car have been restored.
Stained glass, intricate wood paneling, and signage are just a few remnants of the eatery’s past.
Sometime around the 1950s, a dining room was added onto the train car, allowing for more seating. The eatery also offers private dining rooms for two.
The Silver Coach doesn’t just offer an atmosphere and dining experience unlike any other in central Wisconsin, though.
It also serves up a mouthwatering fare that’s touted as being "delicious and nutritious."
Everything is made from scratch using only the finest ingredients, resulting in the flavorful dishes Silver Coach has become known for.
Sure to tantalize your tastebuds, the fare is a "little bit of Cajun Creole" and includes a tasty variety of seafood and steaks.
So, are you ready to board the Silver Coach?
