When it comes to ski resorts in Wisconsin, the options are plentiful. However, one resort continues to reign supreme, and it’s Granite Peak Ski Resort in Wausau. Opened in 1937, it’s one of the nation’s oldest ski resorts. That is not its only claim to fame, though. It’s also touted as “Wisconsin’s legendary ski area.” Perfect for skiers of all abilities, it’s centered around its 700-foot namesake, Granite Peak, and boasts over 200 acres of terrain and 55 runs, including Wisconsin’s highest vertical drop.
