There’s No Chapel In The World Like This One In Wisconsin

For more than 60 years, this little chapel in Elkhart Lake has been turning heads. It is designed in the style of a chapel in the English countryside. It was consecrated in 1951. This chapel is made out of native field stone and is partially plastered. The inside has gorgeous wood beams in the ceiling. The floor is constructed out of a spectacular slate. It is constructed in the Gothic style, but slightly softer.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

What is cool about this chapel is that it is still functional. There are services from Memorial Day through Labor Day. There are only 24 seats, so this is a perfect place if you want a super intimate wedding. The gorgeous design of this chapel, as well as the super serene surrounding, makes this a place you have to tour.

Have you ever been to this chapel? Gotten married here? We would love to see your pictures on the Only in Wisconsin Facebook page.
