Café Benelux in Milwaukee offers a unique winter dining experience with heated Lux Domes on its rooftop patio.

There are lots of great things about winter in Wisconsin. The cold weather does present a few setbacks, though. For example, it puts the kibosh on many outdoor activities, including al fresco dining. Café Benelux is located in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. Inspired by the Benelux region of Europe (hence the name), it features an award-winning Belgian bier selection and…

..."Milwaukee’s most unique rooftop patio."

The rooftop patio is a favorite during the summer season. And in recent years, it’s become a wintertime favorite, too, and it’s all thanks to the launch of Lux Domes.

Deemed one of the state’s most unique winter experiences, Lux Domes consists of six private domes – each of which features lounge-style seating for eight, festive lighting, and a heater.

Renting out the dome gets you 90 minutes inside the cozy abode, but that’s not all.

All Lux Dome experiences include keepsake camp mugs for every member of your party.

Every dome rental requires the purchase of a beverage package. Food packages are also available.

There are a couple of food and beverage packages to choose from, and while they vary, all packages include at least eight servings, ensuring there’s enough for everyone in your group.

Whatever you order, it’ll be ready and waiting for you when you arrive.

There are a couple of things you should know before you go. For one, Lux Domes are designed for patrons 21 and up.

Another thing to remember is that reservations are required. Additionally, dome diners are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the reservation time.

Lux Dome rentals don’t just include dome access, though. You’ll also have access to the Lux Winter Loft, a heated tent with warming bar, which is open to dome guests prior to and after their Lux Dome experience.
