An 1800s-Era Doctor’s Cottage In Petersburg, West Virginia Is Now A Delightful Cafe Bakery

Heads up, Petersburg, West Virginia: there's a delightful new cafe and bakery in town, and it's loaded with historic charm and delicious treats. Introducing The Grove Cafe & Bakery on Virginia Street!

In a historic part of the town of Petersburg, West Virginia (located in Grant County), there's an old cottage. And by old, we mean built-in-1854 old.

This nearly 170-year-old structure was originally a doctor's office for Dr. Thomas Jefferson Grove. It also provided a living space for his caretaker. Dr. Grove lived in the main house right next door.

You can still find these historic buildings in Petersburg, only now the main house is the doctor's office and the adjoining cottage is a cafe and bakery!

The main house provides office space for Dr. Cheryl Bennett of Spectacle Family EyeCare. The cottage next door has just recently opened as The Grove Cafe & Bakery.

The Grove Cafe & Bakery is a beautiful venue with indoor and outdoor seating and even space for small events.

There's seating for up to 20 inside and up to 60 outside.

The Cafe is open Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and serves coffee, desserts, and light meals.

Or you can rent the entire facility for your group or event, including catering, on evenings and weekends.
