11 Amazing Places In West Virginia That Are A Photo-Taking Paradise
Looking for that perfect place for engagement, wedding, or senior portraits – or maybe for a perfect selfie? West Virginia has some great places that are perfect for photography. Here are just a few of them:
1. The New River Gorge
The New River Gorge Bridge is one of the most photographed places in the state, but there are plenty of photo-worthy spots throughout the gorge, including Beauty Mountain, Long Point Trial and the Endless Wall trail. This is the view from a nearby overlook at the bridge (taking all those stairs to get to it is totally worth it).
2. Coopers Rock State Forest
Popular spots in this forest near Morgantown include Raven Rock and Rock City canyon.
3. Cranberry Glades
This spot in Pocahontas County is definitely one of the prettiest in the state.
4. Harpers Ferry
Historic, quaint and beautiful, Harpers Ferry is a great place to take photographs.
5. Spruce Knob
The highest spot in West Virginia, Spruce Knob is a great place to see the state’s mountains from above.
6. Blackwater Falls
The colors in the trees make this spot especially beautiful in the fall.

Often used as a place for wedding, engagement and senior pictures, Capitol Street is one of the most charming spots in Charleston.

Thousands of roses at this Huntington park make for endless possibilities of beautiful photographs.
10. Any of our covered bridges
We have 17 of these beautiful, old covered bridges, according to Wikipedia. This one is in Barrackville, but there are others in Monroe County, Greenbrier County, and Barbour County, just to name a few.
11. Cass Scenic Railroad
Who doesn't love a good train photo? This place is perfect for taking beautiful railroad shots.
