If it’s authentic Mexican food you seek, then look elsewhere, but if you want a truly epic dining experience where burritos are the main course, then step right up, we’ve got the perfect place for you. From the moment you walk into this unassuming eatery in the Mountain State, you may feel like you’ve stepped into another universe where everyone (and we mean everyone) is obsessed with gigantic burritos.
Editor’s Note: Unfortunately, since the time of publication, Hellbenders in West Virginia has since closed.
First things first: bring your A-Game, this is no small meal. The burritos at Hellbenders Burritos in Davis are of epic proportion and you'll want to savor as much of this mean entree as possible right on the spot.
Hellbenders is practically a rite of passage for anyone who's even remotely near to the town of Davis. The eclectic eatery is right on the main thoroughfare as you roll through town, so you can't miss it.
And when you walk through the door, you absolutely won't be able to miss the enormous burritos that are seemingly everywhere! Be sure to throw out all of your notions of what a burrito should be (as in, Mexican), and be open to the menu of creative ways to fill a tortilla to a state of near rupture.
Some of the signature burros are the BBQ Burrito, the Frito Pie Burrito, and the Buffalo Burrito, and there's the HooDooVooDoo Burrito — a New Orleans cajun wonder. But this isn't all... the menu is extensive and we're sure you'll find a burrito that piques your tastebuds to a slow drool.
It’s open Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (closed on Monday and Tuesday). Learn more, and drool over the menu of delicious burritos, at this link on their official website.
