One Of The Most Unique Dairy Queens In The World Is Right Here In West Virginia
The Dairy Queen in Grafton, West Virginia, is unique for its rare Eskimo Girl sign, the last of its kind in the nation.
Here in West Virginia, we love Dairy Queen! And we have some of the best Dairy Queens in the nation. There are West Virginia's two oldest Dairy Queens. There's the West Virginia Dairy Queen with one of the best views in the world. And then there's the Dairy Queen in West Virginia that still has its original, retro Eskimo Girl sign. Think that's normal? It's not. In fact, this is (according to the restaurant itself) the only Eskimo Girl sign left in the whole nation that's still used by an operating Dairy Queen. You heard that right: a trip to the Grafton, West Virginia Dairy Queen is an absolutely one-of-a-kind experience!
Welcome to the small mountain town of Grafton, West Virginia, located between Rowlesburg and Bridgeport on Highway 50. More specifically, welcome to the Grafton, West Virginia Dairy Queen, located at 805 North Pike Street.
This Dairy Queen is one of the most unique Dairy Queens in the nation (maybe even in the world!) thanks to the fact that it still sports an Eskimo Girl Dairy Queen sign.
These retro DQ signs have all but disappeared from Dairy Queens around the United States; in fact, the Eskimo Girl at the Grafton Dairy Queen is the last such sign on an operating Dairy Queen in the nation.
That means this scene that's very much normal for anyone familiar with the Grafton area is actually quite a rare sight!
But just because the sign is old doesn't mean the restaurant is outdated; rather, the sign was restored in 2016 and the Grafton Dairy Queen was renovated even more recently.
All that to say that this unique historic signage is now paired with a perfectly modern, convenient experience for patrons of this one-of-a-kind DQ.
Have you stopped for a meal (or a sweet treat!) at the Dairy Queen in Grafton, West Virginia? When you were there, did you notice the sign? Now you know for sure just exactly how unique this Eskimo Girl Dairy Queen really is!
